Andrew is a licensed Acupuncturist holding a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley. His approach addresses both the physical and emotional dimensions of injury and illness. Andrew’s therapeutic style is specifically tailored to athletes, with a primary focus on expediting the recovery of injured athletes, preventing future injuries, and enhancing overall performance.Through acupuncture, massage, cupping and more. Andrew’s goal is to reduce patient’s pain and get them back to doing what they love.

Andrew was the Acupuncturist for the University of San Francisco Sports Department and the on-call Acupuncturist for the San Francisco Ballet, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, and the Impala Racing Team, Andrew has also collaborated with major baseball teams such as The Giants, The Philadelphia Phillies, The Boston Red Sox, The Pittsburgh Pirates, and The San Diego Padres during the 2018 Spring Training, along with individual MLB athletes and other professional athletes.

His success lies in effectively treating various injuries, especially those involving swelling, spasms, or pain. Additionally, he assists professional athletes in recovering post-surgery and returning to their peak performance.

With a comprehensive understanding of the body from both Western and Eastern perspectives, Andrew leverages his 25+ years of experience to intuitively grasp each patient’s unique situation.His diverse skill set includes Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Deep Tissue Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Reeducation, Soft Tissue Mobilization, Cupping, Laser, Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, and Acupressure.

Ali Hakimi continues his family’s legacy as a seventh-generation practitioner of Traditional Medicine blending ancient techniques with modern approaches.

His practice encompasses several modalities, such as

  • Local acupuncture for injury recovery and pain reduction,
  • Scalp/ear acupuncture for addressing emotional and neurological disorders,
  • Diet and lifestyle modifications aimed at optimizing performance and overall well-being.

Ali also has an extensive knowledge of classical herbal medicine – an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Ali is deeply grounded in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), having earned his Master of Science from the Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences in 2017. Committed to the ongoing study of classical medicine, Ali has advanced his studies with two world-renowned experts on the classical texts of TCM. He studied Classical Chinese Formulas under the guidance of Dr. Huang Huang and explored Classical Diagnosis with Dr. Suzanne Robidoux. Ali has also collaborated with both experts in clinical settings to grasp the practical application of these classical texts in a modern clinic.

He gained specialized knowledge in treating emotional disorders and emotional disturbances such as PTSD, anxiety, stress, and insomnia using scalp acupuncture under the guidance of Dr. Suzanne Robidoux. Furthermore, he has expanded his expertise in addressing neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s, MS, Alzheimer’s, and muscular dystrophy, among others, through targeted acupuncture and moxibustion techniques. This blend of rigorous academic preparation and ongoing education underscores Ali’s dedication to providing comprehensive and holistic care to his patients.
